Wrapping it up...With the end of our fundraiser happening two days ago, there is not much left to do with this service project. The last few things we have to do are purely maintenance work, i.e. making sure the money goes to the right place and the shirts ship out as planned. We have had some major success in our project I would say, selling 64 shirts and receiving over $550 in donations. All together, we raised over $800 for the shelter. This is a huge amount and will surely help the shelter out a lot. Below are some images from the fundraising page that show our activity and our outcome. Thoughts...Personally, I was really happy and really excited with the outcome of this project. Although we did not meet our goal of 150 shirts, we still accumulated over $800 which is a huge sum of money. The only thing I would have done differently would have been getting the word out there more. We could have potentially sold more shirts if we had advertised more. Other than that, I think that this project was a hug success and I'm really proud and happy with the results.

What we Have Accomplished....These last few weeks have been pretty big for our service project. We managed to get a hold and visit P.A.W.S in Hancock county to gather video and pictures of the animals for our fundraising page. We also came to a final decision on our shirt design as shown below. After gathering the picture and video from the shelter, we compiled it all into a video and picked out the best pictures to advertised on our fundraising page. Here is the link to the video and a few pictures we took below. Our biggest accomplishment this week has been the official launching of out fundraising page. We have set the fundraiser to run for 14 days. So far, with 10 days left, we have sold 45 shirts and received almost $110 in donations. All together we have raised about $210. Here is the link to our fundraising campaign https://www.customink.com/fundraising/np-support-our-shelters On the fundraising page, we have included the basic info about our project such as our purpose, where the money goes, and how this benefits the shelter and community. This is in order to inform any potential buyers what exactly their purchase or donation does and where their money goes to. Looking Forward...Currently, the only thing left we have to do is advertise the fundraiser as much as possible. We have already designed and set up posters all around the school and posted on social medias like Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. With the help of our parents and teachers, we have been able to get the word out relatively well to the community. We have also contacted P.A.W.S. about the launch so that they could put something out on their social media platforms. There is still a lot left to do, though. With 10 days left in the fundraiser, we are planning on making another Facebook post out to the community and are going to formulate something to put into the daily announcements sent out to students and parents. We have also continued to ask our friends, teachers, coaches, and friends of parents to consider taking a look at our cause whenever we see them around school or the community. With all of these in mind, we hope to meet our goal of 150 shirts and maybe even more by the time the fundraiser is over. This would generate over $1,000 that would go directly to the shelter.
What this project means to me...Ever since I was a little kid, I have always had a very strong connection to animals. I feel most myself when I am around them and there has never been a time where I didn't have at least one animal in the house. That's why this project fits me perfectly. I get to help animals in need by supporting our local shelters. What is NP Support Our Shelters and why is it important?NP Support our Shelters is a service project created by Brenna Shaw and me to help support our local nonprofit shelters in the community. We have worked together to create a t-shirt design on the Custom Ink Fundraising page that people can purchase. All proceeds will be donated P.A.W.S., a local Hancock County shelter. Since the only money the shelter receives are from donations and sponsors, they need whatever they can get to pay for the costs of keeping the shelter running so the animals can have a safe, temporary home. The money will be used to pay for supplies, such as food, toys, beds, and cages. It will also go toward essential medical procedures that most animals will need, and the everyday costs of keeping the shelter running. Where are we now and what are our future plans?Since we have the t-shirt design already completed, all that is left is launching the fundraising page. We have been in contact with the P.A.W.S animal shelter and are going to collaborate with them to get pictures and videos to include on the fundraising page. This will help to raise awareness for the shelter and appeal to the emotions of the community. Once we have the picture and video, the site will be ready to launch. On the site, we will provide information about where the money is going and a separate place to donate directly to the shelter. We also plan on setting up donation spots around the community at places such as local businesses, sporting events, and schools. These will stay up year round and we will collect the donations as the end of each week. How do we plan on getting the word out?Since we both have social media platforms, we plan to use these as the main way of advocating for out cause. We would also like to have an announcement made at school and help from our teachers and friends. We also plan to have it advertised on the New Pal Parents Facebook page. This will hopefully help us get the support we need and sell our t-shirts. More Information... |
