How it all started...Since recently finishing our big main project a little bit earlier than expected, we had to think of a small project to fill the remaining three weeks of the course. After brainstorming multiple ideas, the idea of school beautification came up. It was a perfect easy way to finish up the quarter while also making the school more colorful and pretty. Making it Happen...To get the ball rolling on this project, we had to get the permission of the administrators first. We went to Mr. Voelz and he was thrilled with the idea. We came up with the idea to plant some mums around the school sign in front of the main entrance. After we received permission and devised a plan of action, all we needed was the supplies. Planting the flowers actually only costs us a little over an hour of labor. By sheer luck, Mr. Voelz had just received multiple mums from the PTO that he had nowhere to put. We used these mums, tools provided by Mr. Voelz, and Mr. Voelz himself to plant the flowers. Final Steps...Once all the flowers were planted, we still had a lot of upkeep to do. We had to start watering the flowers everyday to make sure they didn't die. This process took us about 30 minutes everyday since we had to keep filling up the watering cans in the teacher's lounge sink. It also took us sometimes up to five trips back and forth to make sure all the flowers were properly watered. It paid of, though, because the flowers are almost all blooming or in full bloom. Here are a few pictures we have taken throughout the process.
